CaliDivers was born in 2004, shortly after Mauricio Munoz (founding member) decided to move from Massachusetts to Northern California. Upon arrival to the San Francisco area, Mauricio realized that there was a need to create a social, recreational divers club for divers to come together and enjoy the beautiful California waters.

In the Fall of 2004, CaliDivers evolved to become an internet-based group of diving enthusiasts who came together twice a month to dive in Monterey Bay. Since then, we have been regularly diving in Monterey and many other amazing diving destinations around the world.

Within a few months from the creation of our network more than 50 active divers had joined. As of January 2006, we were over 125 divers and growing strong.

Our goal for 2006 is to end the year with 200 memberships.
